2020 is not only a brand new year but also a new decade! Make sure you’re making the most of the fresh start! Here are four simple steps to implement into your routine to get your life in order.
Get Your Finances in Order
Regardless of where you’re at with your finances, it’s important to have them in order; you need to know where you stand with your money. If you have debt, it is important to know your exact numbers and have a pay-off plan in order. It’s important to only spend money that you have available to you; not leverage debt in order to pay for things.
Get Rid of Clutter at Home
Spring isn’t the only time you should be deep cleaning and decluttering your home! Many people tend to leave their cleaning until “spring cleaning” time. However, it is best to pick at it continuously throughout the year so you’re not left with a massive project that can seem overwhelming.
Don’t Put Things Off
If you’re anything like me, you can be a procrastinator at times. I occasionally find myself saying “it can be done tomorrow”, simply because I didn’t feel like doing it today. If it’s something that can be done in twenty minutes or less, there is absolutely no need to put it off until another day. If it takes over twenty minutes, you can usually still do it the first day you think of it, but make sure you leave room in your schedule to ensure the task gets done well.
Be Intentional with Your Time
How many times has a friend asked you to go shopping or to go out for coffee when you really didn’t feel like going? How many times did you say yes, despite not actually wanting to go? While it’s nice to meet up with friends, if it’s something you don’t want to do, or it’s time where you know you should be doing something else, consider not going. We only have so much time in a day, and sometimes we need to be selfish with our time. Have you ever heard the saying “if it’s not a hell yes, it’s a no”? Try remembering this on times where you’re second-guessing your choices.
